This book expands on Mrs. Wilcox’s basic theme – that all salvation is subjective. She takes this idea to new heights by explaining that all we experience is the mental concept we hold in consciousness. However, she goes much deeper and shows how the concept we have is always the divine concept. To the mortal mind it appears to be material, discordant, disturbing; but to the spiritual consciousness it is always a spiritual idea manifested as a tangible, visible idea erroneously viewed. As we progress in Science and the material mist in thought thins out, we see the visible image that appears as matter to be a divine idea in its true form and color. We achieve this transformation by understanding our oneness with Mind, not by denying animal magnetism or the illusion of a material universe and man. Mrs. Wilcox writes: “In Christian Science we do not deal with things objectively perceived, but with ideas, subjective reflection, which means that all that apparently confronts us must be seen as something we are experiencing within our own mind. . . . “Right practice requires that we deal with our entire experience as a mental experience. The impersonal Word of God, (unfoldment), is what appears to sense as persons and things — the language with which God describes Himself. “Science does not teach that we lift ourselves out of material existence into spiritual existence. There is only one existence, and through Christian Science we lose a material sense of spiritual existence. Christian Science is an interpretation of existence as it really is, identifying all that we are conscious of as an idea of Mind, while the claim is that there is a material body or a human concept to be disposed of. The attempt to dispose of the human as if it were something, is the warfare between Spirit and the flesh. . . . “Are we thinking from the standpoint of Principle and thus entertaining the correct view? Then there will be the appearing more and more of the divine reality, and the disappearing of that which calls itself a human concept.” This book will help focus your prayerful work more on God and your relationship with Him, and with a better understanding of the one Mind, or the divine Principle, Love, the illusion of matter and animal magnetism fades out. The light of this understanding of Truth eliminates the darkness within.

This 1935 address illustrates so clearly how our thinking determines our experience. She writes as follows: “Sooner or later, it will occur to us that all good things belong to us because they are our very being. Sooner or later, we shall recognize that our own right Mind is God, and is our source of infinite supply. As we comprehend this fact, we need to deal with no one but ourselves. There is no ‘outside’ to being. Being is all. As we understand this to be true, we need not depend upon persons, or time, or circumstances for our help. Our world depends upon nothing outside of ourselves, and no problem is too small, or too great, to be understood in its right light and then translated into harmony.”

In this remarkable address, Mrs. Wilcox explains that Truth understood must be objectified as healing and regeneration. She writes: “Truth must be in concrete manifested form and cannot appear otherwise. Divinity is in evidence as concrete human expressions, which are constantly being transformed by the ideal. . . .

“Truth discerned must have an accompanying concrete manifestation. It is only false sense that says we can know a truth and still not know it in some concrete evidence. The problem of being must be solved in the way that Jesus taught and exemplified. The truth of abundance that appeared in the consciousness of Jesus was expressed in its manifested concrete form, exemplified by him as wine, the tax money, loaves and fishes, etc., thus proving that divinity — reality — was in manifestation as the supply to human consciousness. . . .

“There are some students who insist that truth or understanding can come into consciousness as abstract — that is, without some accompanying tangible expression. This is impossible because infinite Truth is concrete being. To believe that understanding or spiritual insight alone, without accompanying proof or demonstration, is sufficient to deliver salvation, is to follow but one part of Jesus’ teaching and example. Understanding and visible practice or demonstration are a unit and inseparable. They are simultaneous.”

In this address, Mrs. Wilcox states in “The Millennium — The Greater Works”: “Only those who have spiritual discernment realize what is taking place and the import of the present time. Those with discernment realize that the world is passing out of one mental cycle, or mode of thinking and living, into another cycle of enlarged thinking and better living, and of spiritual power. When this great moral chemicalization has done its work, we shall find error destroyed, and good only at hand.”
