Mr. Dickey, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, became interested in Christian Science in 1893. After he became a practitioner and teacher, he was appointed to serve as one of Mrs. Eddy’s secretaries. He served her in this capacity for almost three years at her home in Chestnut Hill, where he was a valued member of the household there. One of Mrs. Eddy’s last official acts was to appoint him to the Board of Directors of The Mother Church, a position he held for fourteen years. Mr. Dickey also served as Treasurer of The Mother Church and as a Trustee under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy.
